Yarn: James C. Brett Pure Merino - 100% Merino Wool, in Pale Mink

Needles: 4mm / 6 US

Gauge: 5 stitches and 8.5 rows per inch

Stitch Pattern: Broken Rib

Source: BW1, p. 12.

Comments:
This is called a rib stitch, but there's not really much stretch to it - it lies quite flat, even without blocking.  It kind of reminds me of the fisherman's rib stitch (not that I've swatched it recently), except that it doesn't bunch up at all.

  2. Hello!

Sorry, I can't post the pattern. The book this swatch pattern is from (A Treasury of Knitting Patterns, by Barbara Walker) is still in print, so posting part of it here would be a copyright violation.

The book is available from Schoolhouse Press, and is available from some local yarn stores as well as Amazon. Or maybe you can find it at your local library?

    Thanks for reading my blog!
