Yarn: Patons Classic Wool Merino, 100% Worsted Weight Merino Wool, in Grey

Needles: 4.5 mm / 6 US

Gauge: 4.25 stitches and 7 rows per inch

Stitch Pattern: Moss Double Seed Stitch

Comments: Note to self: Moss Stitch and Seed Stitch are not the same thing!  I knew this little fact ages ago, but somehow I'd forgotten it.  Weird how those small, yet very important details fall out of your mind over time...

  1. I always thought they were the same, and the two names were like when you can call Stockinette stitch 'stockinette' or 'stocking' stitch.
What is the difference between seed and moss?

  2. From what I understood, the moss stitch is K2,P2 alternating on every row (as seen here), whereas seed stitch is only K1,P1 (like this one: http://stilllifewithbooks.blogspot.com/2011/04/april-10-2011.html).

But this issue seems much more complicated than that... perhaps it will be the focus of today's swatch! :)
