Yarn: Cascade 220 Paints, 100% Worsted Weight Wool, in Maple Fall

Needles: 4.5 mm / 7 US

Gauge: 4 sts and 6 rows per inch

Stitch Pattern: Woven Stitch

Source: BW1, p. 95

Comments: I have a general, mostly unjustified* aversion to variegated yarns for anything besides socks... so I decided to try this yarn with a slip-stitch pattern, to see how much it would break up the colour.

*This yarn, for example, was knit into a very lovely hat that I wear frequently... in large panels (as in a sweater), however, I think it would be less appealing to me.

  1. Something magical seems to happen when woven and slipped stitches are used on variagated yarns. I love that swatch.
